September

Happy Fall- well officially as of September 22!
Where the heck did summer go? I blinked and we went from July right over to September. However, no complaints. We had a wonderful summer and as a club did amazing things.
  • We ran our final Duck Pluck fundraiser netting over $12,000 to help our communities in the future
  • We scrambled, color-coded spreadsheets, prepped, prepared and fed the riders participating in the 2022 Parkinson’s Ride.
  • We knit, bought socks and contributed to a young Ukrainian student coming to the states. Who happens to have arrived and is doing very well w/ her host family in Gorham.
  • We helped an Esther House resident settle into her first private living arrangement in over 10 years by providing cleaning and basic kitchen supplies and donating many household furnishings.
  • And finally, we bought, bagged, wrapped and will deliver 4 amazing Welcome Baskets to the Esther House as part of our ongoing Rotary Grant later this month.

All-in-all, it has been a busy and satisfying couple of months!  Though, no rest for the weary or doldrums for the stay-at-homers…. We have some very fun things coming down the pike…A Lobster Bake, A Murder Mystery, a Pub Crawl, the Saco Light Parade, the Lobster Dip, a Progressive Dinner…. Phew…. How exciting to be a Rotarian!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention what you can do to help the club.
  1. Consider inviting a prospective member or two to a meeting
  2. Raise your hand to assist on an upcoming committee
  3. Find some community service for the club to participate in
  4. Help find speakers. RI has provided some themes to get your mind working: October/Community Economics; November/Foundation; December/Disease Prevention; January/ Vocational Service; February/Peace Building; March/ Water-Sanitation; April/Maternal-child health; May/ Youth Services and June/ Rotary Friendship.
Until next time……………….

Peace and Blessings,
