August

The Dog Days of summer have hit us for sure!

I’m thinking our next meeting song needs to be “We’re having a Heat Wave, a Tropical Heatwave”.  Though lyrics would need to be provided- and maybe we could wear Hawaiian shirts. LOL

Thanks to all you great sports who jumped in with gusto to play Giant Jenga at our recent meeting and to our Sea Dogs attending members. I regret that I was not able to make the game; however, I heard it was a great time!

Speaking of great times, soon we’ll be putting the white clothes away, (according to Miss Manners) and with the return to school our Student of the Month recognitions will resume. I sure hope we are all prepared to meet the BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) and have 75% attendance or more at each and every Student of the Month Meeting!  (Hint: Mark your calendars NOW)

Please keep your eyes and ears open for service opportunities. Big or small- the more the merrier! The goal is not to find one thing for all but rather to find many things so all can pick at least one! Rotary means involvement otherwise, it’s just another meeting obligation. Here are some things going on:

  • Sock Collection- Jo Landry  (this is wrapping up so don’t miss the boat)
  • Biddeford/Saco ChamberFest- August 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm-Shannon
  • DUCK SALES!!!! – Jeff Slaton- Grand Duck PLUCK event is August 25th
  • River Jam Festival Volunteer Opportunity- August 19 & 20th
  • Recovery Conference-Sept. 8th, Eliot ME- Jon Bouchard
Until next time……………….

Peace and Blessings,

Shannon Kashinsky – President- 2020-2023
